Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Enchantment Control and Stax strategy commanded by Zur, Eternal Schemer. The deck aims to deploy early mana rocks on Turn 2, cast Zur on Turn 3, and establish a fortified board state on Turn 4 using powerful taxing and pillowfort enchantments like Ghostly Prison, Blind Obedience, and Overburden. Zur transforms these defensive permanents into lethal combatants by animating them with base power and toughness equal to their mana value while granting them static deathtouch, lifelink, and hexproof. The deck closes games through multiple avenues: amassing 4/4 flying Angel tokens via Sigil of the Empty Throne, locking opponents out of the game entirely using Solemnity alongside Decree of Silence or Out of Time, or exiling libraries one by one with Helm of Obedience and Rest in Peace. With deep interaction, high redundancy, and resilient recursion, the deck methodically grinds opponents out before finishing them in combat.
