Deck overview

This Golgari deck is an aggressive, combat-centric tribal strategy led by Aveline de Grandpré. The core game plan revolves around deploying cheap, efficient deathtouch creatures, accelerating mana on Turn 2, and resolving Aveline to exponentially double the size of any deathtouch creature that connects with an opponent. Secondary payoffs like Fynn, the Fangbearer provide an alternate poison win condition, while Court of Garenbrig and Terrasymbiosis turn massive +1/+1 counters into card advantage and board dominance. Because deathtouch makes blocking unfavorable for opponents, the deck routinely forces through combat damage. However, the deck operates entirely in the combat phase and lacks tutors for specific combo finishes, meaning it requires 3 full response cycles from onset to eliminate all three opponents. Supported by versatile Golgari removal such as Assassin's Trophy and Beast Within, the deck excels in mid-power tables that reward steady, resilient board presence and snowballing combat pressure.
