Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis aristocrats and group slug strategy led by Marchesa, the Black Rose. The game plan revolves around utilizing the dethrone mechanic to put +1/+1 counters on attacking creatures, enabling Marchesa's end-step recursion ability whenever those creatures die. The deck features sacrifice and attrition creatures such as Fleshbag Marauder, Accursed Marauder, and Vindictive Lich, which continuously strip opponents of creatures, cards, and life. Complementary group slug elements like Nekusar, the Mindrazer, Underworld Dreams, Razorkin Needlehead, and Pyrohemia tax opposing resources and keep life totals low. A deep suite of efficient spot removal and sweepers controls the board while the deck builds lethal combat pressure. With a high land density and low-cost interaction, the deck grinds opponents down before finishing the game with recurring death triggers and multi-combat finishers like Full Throttle.
