Deck overview

This deck is a classic Rakdos Group Slug archetype built around Mogis, God of Slaughter. Rather than relying on combat damage or fast infinite combos, the strategy turns the fundamental rules of Magic into painful transactions. Opponents are punished for casting spells through Spellshock, tapping lands via Manabarbs, developing creatures into Rampaging Ferocidon, or maintaining broad boards under Archfiend of Depravity. Continuous upkeep pings and irreversible life loss are accelerated by damage doublers and adders such as Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Torbran, Thane of Red Fell. Life-gain prevention effects from Sulfuric Vortex and Erebos, God of the Dead ensure that opposing life totals cannot recover. Once life pools are weakened, game-ending haymakers like Havoc Festival, Heartless Hidetsugu, or a large Torment of Hailfire quickly shutter the game. While the deck boasts high redundancy and resilient enchantments, its lack of stack protection and card velocity makes careful timing critical.
