Commander: The Lord of Pain

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

The Lord of Pain is the engine of a Rakdos group-slug deck that taxes every spell, card draw, and upkeep with damage. The primary plan is to deploy The Lord of Pain early, pair it with draw-punish permanents such as Spiteful Visions, Underworld Dreams, and Stormfist Crusader, then multiply damage with Ojer Axonil, Solphim, or City on Fire. Secondary lines use Chandra's Ignition on a large commander and Blasphemous Act plus Brash Taunter as mass burn. Vial Smasher the Fierce acts as a hidden commander, duplicating the first-spell damage trigger. The deck rarely races; it grinds out 1-8 damage per event until amplifiers turn those events lethal.
