Deck overview

This deck is an interactive Dimir control and typal midrange deck piloted by Vren, the Relentless. The strategy revolves around controlling the battlefield through dense spot removal, multi-target edicts, and efficient countermagic. Every time an opposing creature dies, Vren exiles it instead, completely shutting down graveyard reanimation and death triggers. At each end step, Vren turns those exiled creatures into scaling Rat tokens that grow larger with every Rat you control. As the game develops, these tokens quickly become massive threats that dominate combat. The deck backs up this core engine with a deep suite of 1-mana protection spells and Swarmyard to keep Vren alive. Finishers like Marrow-Gnawer, Valley Rotcaller, and Twisted Sewer-Witch provide evasion, life drain, and explosive buffs to close out the game in decisive combat steps. With over 28 interactive spells, the deck consistently controls opposing threats while building an overwhelming, resilient army.
