Deck overview

This Azorius deck revolves around Hylda of the Icy Crown, turning defensive tapping spells into an aggressive token army and steady card advantage engine. Dense two-mana artifact ramp enables an early Hylda deployment on turn 3 or 4. Once Hylda is on the battlefield, cheap tap spells and abilities trigger her ability, allowing you to pay one mana to generate 4/4 Elemental tokens, grow the team with +1/+1 counters, or dig through the library. Defensive staples like Verity Circle and Opposition turn opposing creature taps into card draw or mana denial. Because opponents' creatures are continually tapped down, your 4/4 Elementals can attack into clear boards without fear of blockers or counterattacks. The deck protects its engine with efficient counterspells and protective phasing cards like Teferi's Protection, ultimately overrunning the table with a swarm of large Elementals across multiple combat steps.
