Deck overview

This Gruul deck focuses entirely on accelerating into its commander, Etali, Primal Conqueror, and abusing its enter-the-battlefield trigger through a dense suite of temporary clone spells and token duplicators. Backed by 18 ramp sources, the deck consistently produces seven mana by Turn 4. When Etali enters the battlefield, each player exiles cards until revealing a nonland card, granting up to four free spells in a single turn. Once the initial wave of free spells lands, the deck deploys copy effects such as Twinflame, Molten Duplication, and Heat Shimmer, or repeatable engines like Orthion, Hero of Lavabrink and Rionya, Fire Dancer. Even though the legend rule sends duplicate Etalis to the graveyard, each token copy generates four additional free spells before leaving the battlefield. The resulting cascade of stolen cards, combined with internal finishers like Craterhoof Behemoth, Terror of the Peaks, and Etali's transformed Phyrexian side, rapidly overwhelms all three opponents by Turn 6.
