Deck overview

This Grixis Spellslinger deck uses Saruman, the White Hand to convert noncreature spells into a massive Orc Army token while taxing opposing spot removal with ward {2}. Supported by mana rocks and efficient cantrips, the deck accelerates Saruman onto the battlefield by turn 4. As you cast card draw, removal, and burn spells, the Army grows rapidly while permanents like Fiery Inscription and Guttersnipe chip away at opposing life totals. Around turn 6, the deck reaches critical mass, using evasion from The Black Gate or board-clearing burst damage from Chandra's Ignition and Soul Immolation to close out the game. Fling effects such as Fling and Kazuul's Fury provide reach to finish off surviving opponents. While vulnerable to bounce spells and wipe effects that reset the Army's counters, redundant token generators like Lord of the Nazgûl and solid countermagic ensure consistent pressure and recovery.
