Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan Poison Midrange strategy helmed by Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost toxic creatures early to establish three poison counters on opponents, turning on Ixhel's Corrupted mechanic to siphon resources straight from opponents' libraries. Once the card-advantage engine is humming, the deck pivots into aggressive toxic finishers like Tyrranax Atrocity and Paladin of Predation, backed by proliferate triggers from Evolution Sage and combat multipliers like True Conviction. Supporting subthemes include token generation and board protection to maintain momentum against sweepers. While the deck possesses explosive poison-stacking potential, its lack of unconditional tutors and stack interaction makes it susceptible to well-timed opposing sweepers and combo decks. It excels in attrition-heavy, board-centric multiplayer environments where Ixhel can generate steady value over extended turn cycles.
