Commander: Syrix, Carrier of the Flame

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Syrix, Carrier of the Flame helms a Rakdos Phoenix tribal deck that marries haste-driven aggression with relentless graveyard recursion. The primary game plan is to fill the graveyard through self-mill, looting, and sacrifice outlets, then loop cheap Phoenix creatures (Flamewake Phoenix, Lightning Phoenix, Phoenix Chick, etc.) to repeatedly trigger Syrix's end-step damage ability, pinging down opponents while building board presence. The deck also leans on value engines like Underworld Breach and The Soul Stone to ensure a steady stream of recurred threats. Secondary win paths include infinite mana loops via Warren Soultrader/Pitiless Plundid? (not present) or direct burn from Ayara, Widow of the Realm. The commander's own ability to recast itself from the graveyard upon another Phoenix dying creates an endless supply of flying, hasty attackers.
