Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari graveyard midrange and aristocrats strategy commanded by Long Feng, Grand Secretariat. The game plan revolves around rapidly filling the graveyard through self-mill engines such as Mesmeric Orb, Ripples of Undeath, Life from the Loam, and Grisly Salvage. As creatures and lands enter the graveyard, cards like The Mycotyrant, Insidious Roots, and Izoni, Thousand-Eyed generate massive token armies while Long Feng, Grand Secretariat distributes +1/+1 counters. The deck transitions into a lethal threat around Turn 6 by casting a decisive Living Death or using Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord to fling giant creatures directly at all opponents. The commander serves as an incremental engine booster rather than a mandatory piece, giving the list outstanding resilience against targeted removal and board wipes.
