Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages The Serpent Society to transform deathtouch creatures into an oppressive asymmetric board-control engine. By packing a dense roster of low-cost deathtouchers like Ankle Biter, Ambush Viper, and Dragon Sniper, the deck establishes early board presence on turns 1 and 2. Once the commander arrives on turn 3, every combat trade, fight spell, and sacrifice effect forces all three opponents to sacrifice a nontoken creature. This relentless attrition clears the battlefield of blockers and opposing commanders. Mid-game payoffs such as Radioactive Man, Grave Titan, and South Wind Avatar capitalize on empty enemy boards to push massive combat damage and life drain. Built-in Ward with five poison counters makes the commander perilous to target, while fight spells double as targeted removal and edict triggers. The strategy steadily suffocates creature-based opponents and closes out the game through coordinated combat steps enhanced by Root Manipulation and Driven // Despair.
