Deck overview

This Maarika, Brutal Gladiator deck functions as an aggressive Jund Voltron and combat attrition deck. The core strategy revolves around ramping out Maarika ahead of curve, utilizing her natural indestructible attribute on your turn to force unfavorable blocks. Because Maarika must be blocked if able, fight spells and combat buffs reliably trigger excess damage, systematically stripping opponents of noncreature, nonland permanents. The deck leverages power doublers such as Xenagos, God of Revels and Mr. Orfeo, the Boulder, alongside infect enablers and extra combat steps, to eliminate opponents sequentially via lethal commander damage. While the deck boasts heavy redundancy in fight and pump effects, it eschews tutors and fast mana, relying on steady card advantage engines tied to high-power creatures and combat triggers to close out the game over multiple rotations.
