Deck overview

This Grixis deck operates as a high-power Midrange Combo engine led by Sauron, the Dark Lord. While the deck features an extensive Lord of the Rings theme with nine copies of Nazgûl, its primary speed and lethality stem from compact combo packages. The deck uses low-cost black and blue tutors to assemble Thassa's Oracle alongside Demonic Consultation as early as Turn 4, closing the game immediately with zero response cycles. If the fast combo is delayed, Sauron, the Dark Lord, The One Ring, and Rhystic Study provide massive card replenishment and mid-game board presence. Secondary win conditions include Underworld Breach storm lines with Brain Freeze, an infinite combat loop via Aggravated Assault and Sword of Feast and Famine, and combat beats from scaling Wraith tokens pumped by Lord of the Nazgûl.
