Deck overview

This Golgari deck uses Venom, Deadly Devourer as a lethal Voltron commander powered by high-toughness graveyard fodder. By utilizing efficient entomb effects like Buried Alive and Vile Entomber, the deck tutors massive creatures such as The Walls of Ba Sing Se (30 toughness) or Tree of Perdition (13 toughness) into the graveyard. Venom's activated ability exiles these targets to place massive quantities of +1/+1 counters on itself, immediately turning the commander into an evasive 34/34 threat with built-in menace and vigilance. Evasion enablers like Garruk's Uprising, Shadowspear, and Trailblazer's Boots ensure damage connects over three consecutive combat turns to wipe out the table. The list features dense ramp and versatile Golgari removal to control opposing threats, though it remains vulnerable to targeted exile and lacks stack interaction.
