Deck overview

This Boros spellslinger aggro deck leverages Monica Rambeau // Photon, Living Light to convert noncreature spell velocity into a massive, permanent board presence. In the early game, the deck establishes low-cost prowess threats and token generators like Monastery Mentor, Aligned Heart, and Cori-Steel Cutter. Once Monica transforms into Photon on Turn 5, she gains hexproof and distributes +1/+1 counters to every other friendly creature whenever you cast noncreature spells. On Turn 6, chaining low-cost cantrips, burn, and flashback spells rapidly scales your attackers into a lethal flying and ground army. The deck closes out games across two combat cycles using damage multipliers such as Insult // Injury, extra combat spells like Response // Resurgence and Seize the Day, or the unblockable goad effect of Taunt from the Rampart. While the deck possesses explosive combat potential and built-in protection on its commander, it lacks stack interaction and relies on natural draws to find high-impact finishers.
