Herigast - Emerge Eldrazis by jascott4427

Format: Commander

Commander: Herigast, Erupting Nullkite

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Herigast, Erupting Nullkite is a mono-red emerge engine that converts sacrificial fodder into discounted Eldrazi and artifact creatures. The primary plan is to land an early Herigast, exile the hand for three cards, then use the commander-granted emerge to cheat out high-mana threats such as Ulamog, the Defiler, Skitterbeam Battalion, and Hideous Taskmaster. Secondary paths are recursion through Feldon and Nim Deathmantle, thievery via Akroan War/Seize the Spotlight, and an artifact-based alternate win in Hellkite Tyrant. Because most spells are bulky, the deck wins through board presence and annihilator/steal alpha strikes rather than a compact combo. The commander is the linchpin; without her, the deck has no efficient way to cast its threats.
