Deck overview

This Jund midrange deck harnesses -1/-1 counter synergies to control the board, draw cards, and drain opponents. Led by Auntie Ool, Cursewretch, the deck turns self-inflicted -1/-1 counters and blight costs into continuous card advantage while punishing opponents whenever their creatures receive counters. Dense early ramp enables a turn 4 commander deployment, immediately unlocking card flow through creatures like Sinister Gnarlbark and Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons. The deck transitions into a dominant late game by locking opposing combat with Kulrath Knight and distributing counters using Carnifex Demon, Midnight Banshee, or Black Sun's Zenith. Opponents take continuous life loss from Obelisk Spider and Auntie Ool while facing an infinite fallback combo in Blowfly Infestation and Hapatra. Strong single-target removal keeps opposing threats in check, leading to a reliable close around turn 8.
