Deck overview

This deck uses Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer and Pirate-style combat triggers to build Treasures, gain temporary access to opposing cards, and accelerate into large hasty or evasive threats. Professional Face-Breaker, Captain Lannery Storm, Goldspan Dragon, Xorn, and Reckless Fireweaver turn combat and artifact production into additional mana or damage. Equipment gives the deck evasion, protection, and stronger attacks. The ordinary plan assembles around turn 6, creates its first serious must-answer board around turn 7, and usually needs several attacks to defeat the table. The deck also contains the compact Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Zealous Conscripts infinite creature combo. That combo can kill immediately once assembled, but it is not the ordinary plan because the deck has little reliable creature tutoring and limited access to both singleton pieces. Interaction is strongest against artifacts and blue cards, while broad stack coverage, enchantments, graveyards, and sweepers remain difficult to answer.
