Deck overview

This Golgari deck is built around Shelob, Child of Ungoliant, utilizing Spider tribal synergies, fight mechanics, and stompy combat finishers. The primary game plan develops mana across the opening turns using standard ramp artifacts and land fetchers, deploying Shelob on Turn 5. Once Shelob is on the battlefield, all Spiders gain deathtouch and ward {2}, turning fight and bite spells like Terrific Team-Up and Felling Blow into instant creature removal that steals opposing creatures as Food artifact tokens. The deck translates this board control into victory through combat damage, leveraging large beaters like Spider-Rex, Daring Dino alongside overrun effects such as Overrun and Preposterous Proportions. While strong in creature combat, the deck relies on natural draws due to limited tutoring, and its multi-turn combat finish remains susceptible to sweepers.
