Deck overview

This mono-black deck executes an aggressive Voltron strategy centered on Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon. It leverages fast mana such as Dark Ritual, Mana Vault, and Sol Ring to accelerate Skithiryx onto the battlefield by Turn 4 with mana open for its haste activation. By combining flying and infect with explosive pump effects like Hatred, Lashwrithe, and Blackblade Reforged, the deck threatens to eliminate opponents in single-hit combat strikes dealing 10 poison counters. High-utility tutors including Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor ensure access to key equipment and protection pieces such as Commander's Plate and Lightning Greaves. Disruptive staples like Opposition Agent and Orcish Bowmasters constrain opposing answers while efficient sweepers clear blockers. When primary commander lines face disruption, backup infect creatures and proliferation engines close out games with minimal delay.
