Deck overview

This Dimir deck leverages The Master, Formed Anew as a modular, repeatable clone engine. The strategy revolves around placing powerful utility and drain creatures into exile with takeover counters upon casting the commander, allowing subsequent casts and enters-the-battlefield triggers to replicate these threats. Using low-cost bounce engines like Cavern Harpy, Shrieking Drake, Crystal Shard, and Erratic Portal, the deck repeatedly recycles The Master, Formed Anew to trigger devastating abilities from cards such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Dusk Mangler, Hostage Taker, and Mulldrifter. Graveyard tutors and reanimation spells provide redundant access to these payoffs. The deck controls the board with mass bounce effects like Kederekt Leviathan and Evacuation while steadily draining opponents' life totals over a tight two-cycle window once the drain loop is established.
