Deck overview

This Boros deck executes a fast, resilient Equipment Voltron strategy helmed by Bruenor Battlehammer. Bruenor breaks the mana economy of heavy Equipment by granting a free equip cost each turn while providing a static +2/+0 buff for each attached artifact. The deck accelerates in the opening turns using fast mana rocks like Mox Diamond, Chrome Mox, and Sol Ring, quickly deploying tutor engines such as Stoneforge Mystic and Steelshaper's Gift. By Turn 3 or 4, Bruenor equips massive weapons like Colossus Hammer or The Reaver Cleaver for zero mana, presenting immediate lethal commander damage threats. Supporting creatures like Reyav, Master Smith and Puresteel Paladin provide double strike and card draw, while a robust protection suite featuring Deflecting Swat, Mithril Coat, and Grand Abolisher shields the win line. If combat stalls against heavy blocking, the deck pivots into an infinite combat combo using Godo, Bandit Warlord and Helm of the Host to eliminate the table in a single turn.
