Deck overview

This Mardu deck utilizes Zurgo Stormrender to head a hybrid token swarm and aristocrat strategy. By generating a continuous stream of attacking creature tokens through mobilize and repeatable generators like Adeline, Resplendent Cathar and Hero of Bladehold, the deck constantly applies combat pressure while weaponizing token departures. When attacking tokens fall in battle, Zurgo converts them into card advantage; when non-attacking tokens or end-step mobilize tokens leave the battlefield, Zurgo burns each opponent directly. The deck scales into the mid-game via powerful anthem and token enhancement effects such as Cathars' Crusade, Divine Visitation, and Within Range, while Thalisse, Reverent Medium rapidly multiplies board presence.
