Deck overview

Felothar the Steadfast leads an Abzan toughness-matters deck that transforms high-toughness defenders into lethal combat threats. The deck accelerates in early turns using efficient mana rocks and mana dorks to deploy Felothar by turn 3 or 4. Once on the board, creatures assign combat damage equal to their toughness, allowing oversized defenders like Ancient Adamantoise and The Walls of Ba Sing Se to strike for enormous damage. Evasion enablers like Behind the Scenes and MacCready, Lamplight Mayor grant skulk to ensure low-power beaters bypass blockers. The deck also includes an infinite mana and draw combo using Arbor Adherent and Staff of Domination. If combat is stalled, Tree of Perdition, Catapult Captain, and Betor, Kin to All drain life totals directly. While vulnerable to exile board wipes and spot removal on key assigners, redundant engines like Doran, the Siege Tower provide dependable consistency.
