This Abzan toughness-matters deck is helmed by Betor, Kin to All, a value engine that rewards high total toughness with card draw, untapping, and life loss. The primary game plan is to deploy a critical mass of high-toughness creatures (walls, defenders, and treefolk), enable them to assign combat damage using toughness via Assault Formation, Doran, the Siege Tower, or Bedrock Tortoise, and overwhelm opponents through incremental combat damage or the commander s end-step life drain.
