Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul Voltron strategy centered on Wolverine, Best There Is. It leverages Wolverine's innate damage-doubling ability to turn modest power increases into lethal commander damage. Early turns focus on accelerating mana with low-cost mana dorks and artifacts, landing Wolverine on turn 3, and equipping or enhancing him on turn 4. By stacking +1/+1 counters and applying combat modifiers such as trample and double strike, Wolverine quickly threatens single-hit knockouts against opposing players. The deck heavily features fight and bite spells that turn Wolverine's massive power and regeneration into reliable board control while growing him larger each end step. While the deck boasts high single-target burst damage and strong spot protection, it lacks tutors and card draw engines, making it dependent on natural draws to maintain momentum across multiplayer tables.
