Commander: Blech, Loafing Pest

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Blech, Loafing Pest is a Golgari token-swarm deck that turns every life-gain trigger into +1/+1 counters on Pests, Bats, Insects, Snakes, and Spiders. The primary line is to flood the board with Pest and Insect tokens, generate repeated life-gain triggers with Essence Warden and Pest Rescuer, then swing with an enormous trampling swarm. Secondary plans drain opponents with Dina, Soul Steeper and Starscape Cleric, or grind value through Cauldron of Essence and Teacher's Pest. Blech is the force multiplier that makes small tokens into real threats, but the deck can still function if he is absent. There is no double-faced commander in the list; Blech is the intended engine.
