Sauron, The Dark Lord

Format: Commander

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Sauron, the Dark Lord drives a Grixis Army deck that grows a single Orc Army. Opponents casting spells, Saruman, and amass effects add counters, while Mauhur adds an extra counter each time. When the Army deals combat damage, the Ring tempts you and Sauron lets you discard your hand to draw four, which fuels the deck. Herald of Secret Streams makes counter-loaded creatures unblockable for combat kills. The backup win is Terror of the Peaks paired with Devastating Onslaught to copy Terror and burn opponents. Saruman, the White Hand acts as a hidden commander, giving ward and growing the Army on every noncreature spell.
