Thorin Tokenshield by user9655168

Format: Commander

Commander: Thorin, King of Durin's Folk

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Thorin, King of Durin's Folk anchors a Boros Dwarf-tribal treasure deck. The main plan is to land Thorin early, keep playing Dwarves so every ETB makes Treasure, and let those artifact tokens both ramp and pump each Dwarf. Cadric, Soul Kindler and Bifur, Melodic Rider multiply Dwarf triggers; Magda, Brazen Outlaw functions as a de facto hidden commander, creating treasure and tutoring for Dragons/artifacts. Secondary wins are hasty Dragon attacks (Goldspan, Smaug, Dain of the Ancient Halls), artifact-damage pings from Reckless Fireweaver/Ingenious Artillerist, and Knuckles the Echidna's 30-artifact upkeep trigger. The commander's role is simultaneous engine and finisher; no card replaces him, but Magda is the closest lieutenant.
