Deck overview

This Grixis deck is built around The Madcap Jester and a dense suite of exile-theft engines. The game plan focuses on rapid deployment of low-cost mana artifacts on the first two turns, casting the commander on Turn 3, and immediately generating card advantage on Turn 4 by attacking to exile cards from each opponent's library. Because the commander allows spending mana of any type, the deck seamlessly converts opponents' spells into its own resources. Mid-game turns scale board presence and life loss through payoffs like Passionate Archaeologist, Don Andres, the Renegade, Prosper, Tome-Bound, and Etali, Primal Storm. Interaction is anchored by low-cost and free spells like Deflecting Swat and Deadly Rollick. The deck closes games around Turn 9 by chaining stolen threats and dealing recurring exile-cast burn.
