Format: Commander

Commander: Ozai, the Phoenix King

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Ozai, the Phoenix King leads a Rakdos firebending deck that treats combat as a mana engine. The plan is to cast Ozai early, attack with haste, and use his static ability to keep all unspent mana as red, turning each swing into growing fuel. The deck then finishes by pumping Ozai with Firebreathing or Twin Blades to one-shot opponents via commander damage, or by converting the stockpile into X spells such as Rakdos's Return and Fireball. Secondary paths use firebending tokens, sagas, and Vindictive Warden drains. There is no hidden commander; the deck is built entirely around Ozai's ability to bank mana, so keeping him on the battlefield is priority one.
