Deck overview

This deck combines high-impact Angel tribal synergies with an explosive Mardu reanimation engine. Helmed by Tariel, Reckoner of Souls, the deck rarely relies on its seven-mana commander, instead using Entomb, Buried Alive, and Vile Entomber to place massive game-ending creatures into the graveyard early. Spells like Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Necromancy cheat out dominating threats such as Archon of Cruelty, Serra's Emissary, and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight as early as turns 2 to 4. Simultaneously, stax-oriented angels like Linvala, Keeper of Silence, Drana and Linvala, and Liesa, Forgotten Archangel suppress opposing strategies by turning off activated abilities and graveyard recursion. The deck closes out multiplayer tables rapidly through high aerial combat damage boosted by Righteous Valkyrie, Aurelia, the Warleader, or Akroma's Will, while maintaining an infinite combat combo with Helm of the Host.
