Keeper of the Gates! by chonkybear

Format: Commander

Commander: Niv-Mizzet Reborn

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This five-color Gates midrange list uses Niv-Mizzet Reborn as a command-zone value engine rather than a combo piece. The 6/6 flyer reveals the top ten cards on entry and keeps one card of each two-color pair, so the 99 is stacked with guildcards that turn that trigger into a full grip. Flicker support from Soulherder, Brago, King Eternal, Nahiri's Resolve, and Turn to Mist recasts the trigger, while Niv-Mizzet, Supreme jump-starts the same gold instants and sorceries from the graveyard. A 20-Gate mana base plus Maze's End, Circuitous Route, Explore the Underdark, and Gond Gate builds toward an alternate win or toward the huge mana Baldur's Gate and Debt to the Deathless need. Combat closes through General Ferrous Rokiric tokens, Knight of New Alara, and the other Niv dragons. The deck plays as interactive gold midrange: hold up two-color answers, restock off Niv, and convert Gate mana into a win.
