Axo-lutely Winning by user3609551

Format: Commander

Commander: Xolatoyac, the Smiling Flood

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Simic +1/+1 counter and proliferate value engine helmed by Xolatoyac, the Smiling Flood. The commander's end-step untap of every countered permanent turns the deck's counter synergies into a pseudo-Seedborn Muse engine, while its flood counters turn lands into Islands - feeding islandwalk threats like Cold-Eyed Selkie and Chasm Skulker's tokens. The primary plan is to grow a massive counter-stacked board (Kami of Whispered Hopes, Ozolith, the Shattered Spire, Innkeeper's Talent, Zimone, Paradox Sculptor) and win through combat with Quilled Greatwurm or a giant Forgotten Ancient. A genuine alternate win condition exists in Twenty-Toed Toad, which wins on attack with twenty counters or twenty cards in hand. The deck is a slow, grindy value pile with a dense interaction suite rather than a fast combo deck.
