Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Simic +1/+1 counters aggro-combo strategy led by Ezuri, Claw of Progress. The game plan revolves around playing cheap creatures with power 2 or less to build experience counters rapidly, then using Ezuri's combat trigger to pump threats into massive attackers. The deck converts these counters into lethal combat damage using evasion enablers like Herald of Secret Streams, Champion of Lambholt, and Kodama of the West Tree, or finishes games instantly through the infinite Squirrel combo of Ivy Lane Denizen and Scurry Oak. Mana acceleration is dense with 11 low-cost ramp pieces, powering Ezuri onto the battlefield ahead of curve on Turn 3. Once established, draw engines like Fathom Mage, Inspiring Call, and Rishkar's Expertise refill the hand with fresh threats and protection. A responsive interaction package featuring cheap counterspells and phase-out protection like Ripples of Potential shields the board against sweepers while the deck closes out the game over two combat cycles.
