Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Meren of Clan Nel Toth to build a recurring sacrifice and reanimation engine. In the early turns, mana dorks accelerate mana development while self-sacrificing utility creatures fill the graveyard and accumulate experience counters. Once Meren enters the battlefield, she reanimates creatures every end step at no mana cost. The deck controls opposing boards through repeatable edict effects like Accursed Marauder, Fleshbag Marauder, and Plaguecrafter, which turn into one-sided board wipes when combined with Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, or Tergrid, God of Fright. Card advantage flows continuously through sacrifice payoffs like Skullclamp, Grim Haruspex, and Morbid Opportunist. The deck finishes games by looping massive drain creatures such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Kokusho, the Evening Star, backed by aristocrat triggers from Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat and mass reanimation spells like Living Death.
