Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Grixis spellslinger storm list helmed by Fire Lord Azula. The strategy focuses on deploying Azula early and declaring an attack to trigger firebending 2, which supplies two red mana during combat. While attacking, Azula copies every spell cast, turning cheap cantrips, rituals, and combat tricks into doubled value. Magecraft engines like Storm-Kiln Artist and Archmage Emeritus quickly generate massive mana and card advantage, fueling storm lines with Brain Freeze and Grapeshot. Flash enablers such as Borne Upon a Wind and Leyline of Anticipation allow sorceries and creatures to enter during the combat step to maximize copy triggers. Underworld Breach provides a decisive secondary win route by looping rituals and mill spells directly from the graveyard. Free protection spells like Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat protect the engine during critical turns.
