This Golgari Aristocrats deck leverages the partner pairing of Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar and the Master Chef background to form a powerful card-draw engine and infinite combo finish. Master Chef ensures every creature enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter. This simple enhancement supercharges Shadowheart's sacrifice-to-draw activated ability, converting cheap utility creatures into bursts of three or more cards per turn cycle. More crucially, Master Chef breaks the persist mechanic entirely: when a persist creature like Putrid Goblin or Woodfall Primus dies and returns with a -1/-1 counter, Master Chef places a +1/+1 counter on it, annihilating both counters via state-based actions. Paired with any free sacrifice outlet like Viscera Seer or Woe Strider and a blood artist drain effect like Zulaport Cutthroat, the deck executes a lethal infinite drain loop on Turn 6.
