Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Dragon Stompy and Treasure engine built around Smaug the Impenetrable. Smaug is a 7-mana 8/7 flying, indestructible, and hasty Dragon that generates Treasure tokens whenever it is dealt noncombat damage. The early game focuses on accelerating mana through artifacts like Sol Ring and Arcane Signet alongside cost-reducers like Dragonspeaker Shaman. Once Smaug enters, symmetric damage sweepers such as Blasphemous Act and Chain Reaction serve a dual purpose: they clear opposing boards while dealing massive noncombat damage to Smaug, generating 13 or more Treasures in a single burst. These resources fund high-end flying threats like Utvara Hellkite, Lathliss, Dragon Queen, and extra-combat engines such as Hellkite Charger. The deck can also close games via an infinite damage loop with Pestilence or through direct Dragon entry burn from Dragon Tempest and Scourge of Valkas.
