Deck overview

Halana and Alena, Partners is a Gruul +1/+1 counter deck that uses power-matters mana dorks, commander pumps, and hasted attacks to snowball. The commander's combat trigger turns a single creature into an enormous threat, while Verdurous Gearhulk and Kalonian Hydra feed it counters. The deck can win through commander-pumped Etali poison damage or the Delina/Kiki-Jiki/Hyrax/Terror combo. It has strong acceleration and card advantage from Etali and the Dracosaur, but its interaction is mostly permanent-based and it lacks stack defense, making it vulnerable to wipes and opposing combo. The main paths are synergistic rather than linear.
