EL MISTER by user3359831

Format: Commander

Commander: Elminster

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a UW scry/planeswalker control deck built around Elminster's ability to turn every scry into a massive mana discount on instants and sorceries. The primary game plan is to establish a scry engine (Sensei's Divining Top, Mystic Speculation, Jace's Sanctum, Planetarium of Wan Shi Tong), then use Elminster's -3 to convert the top card of the library into flying Faerie Dragon tokens while threatening a huge discounted spell. The deck features a strong extra-turn package - Time Warp, Temporal Manipulation, Time Stretch, Karn's Temporal Sundering - that eventually chains into a game-ending sorcery such as Approach of the Second Sun, Storm Herd, or a giant Mind's Desire. A robust interaction shell of counterspells, Teferi, Time Raveler, Grand Abolisher, and Lavinia, Azorius Renegade keeps the table locked out while the scry-value engine grinds toward an unstoppable turn.
