Kudo Stax by ToastyKabal

Format: Commander

Commander: Kudo, King Among Bears

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Selesnya stax/hatebears deck helmed by Kudo, King Among Bears, who turns all other creatures into 2/2 Bears. The primary strategy is to deploy a dense suite of symmetrical stax pieces-Rule of Law, Deafening Silence, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Null Rod, and Stony Silence-to cripple opponents' game plans while assembling a lock or a combat win. The deck's key win conditions include: (1) the land-animation combo-Living Plane or Nature's Revolt plus Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite and Kudo, which turns all opponent lands into 0/0 creatures and wipes them; (2) the soft lock of Drop of Honey/Porphyry Nodes with Kudo, destroying the smallest creature each turn; and (3) combat through anthems like Cathars' Crusade, Akroma's Will, or Finale of Devastation for X=10. The commander provides a unique board-wide effect but is not essential for the stax plan to function.
