Deck overview

This deck is a Boros discard and reanimator midrange deck commanded by Joshua, Phoenix's Dominant. The strategy focuses on filtering through the library with aggressive rummage and loot effects, discarding high-impact creatures such as Sun Titan, Karmic Guide, and Moonshaker Cavalry into the graveyard. On Turn 4, Joshua transforms into Phoenix, Warden of Fire, dealing incremental burn damage on Chapters I and II. On Chapter III (Turn 6), Phoenix triggers 'Flames of Rebirth' to resurrect up to 6 mana value of creatures directly to the battlefield, resetting Joshua to loot again. With haste enablers like Anger and Enduring Courage, this reanimation burst converts immediately into an overwhelming combat alpha strike. Supported by efficient white spot removal, cost-reduced sweepers, and steady card-draw engines, the deck grinds through opposing interaction and closes games decisively around Turn 7.
