Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Gruul Voltron strategy centered on Wolverine, Best There Is. By taking advantage of Wolverine's innate damage doubling, the deck bypasses the standard 21-power threshold, requiring only 11 raw power—or assistance from damage multipliers like Jeska, Thrice Reborn and Temur Battle Rage—to eliminate opponents in single combat steps. The mana curve is aggressively front-loaded with 1- and 2-drop ramp spells, guaranteeing a Turn 2 commander deployment followed by early equipment and aura attachments on Turn 3. Defensive capabilities are exceptionally robust, pairing Wolverine's natural regeneration with top-tier instant protection including Deflecting Swat and Heroic Intervention. While primarily an aggressive combat deck that eliminates opponents sequentially by Turn 6, it also features an infinite combat backup line with Bear Umbra and Aggravated Assault to close out stalled tables.
