Deck overview

Bard, King of Dale is a draw- and token-doubling engine. The main plan is to resolve Bard, keep him protected, and then turn every extra draw or token into double value. Most games are intended to end with Approach of the Second Sun, found again through the draw-doubling shell and protected with Remand and free counters. Laboratory Maniac and Triskaidekaphile are secondary finishes, and if the game turns into combat, copious Bard token copies plus soldier tokens from The Queen of Dale can close via damage. The hidden commander is The Queen of Dale, a recruiter who works especially well once copied: opponent noncreature spells become cards and soldiers.
