Deck overview

This deck is a five-color spellslinger storm strategy built around Codie, Ravenous Codex and the Prepare mechanic. The primary game plan utilizes cheap prepare creatures that enter ready to cast their adventure-like spell halves. When Codie is on the battlefield, every prepared spell cast is automatically duplicated, generating explosive value from card draw, removal, and mana generation spells. Payoffs like Guttersnipe, Coruscation Mage, Witherbloom Apprentice, and Storm-Kiln Artist convert these duplicated casts and copies into massive mana reserves and lethal table-wide burn. Backed by cost reducers such as Stormcatch Mentor and token generators like Ovika, Enigma Goliath and Shark Typhoon, the deck rapidly ramps into a high-velocity storm turn around Turn 5. While the deck boasts high redundancy and resilient card velocity, it features minimal defensive countermagic and zero proactive stax pieces, making it reliant on racing opponents and executing proactive damage flurries.
