Kastral, the Windcrested by DMbyChoice

Format: Commander

Commander: Kastral, the Windcrested

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a midrange Azorius flying-tribal build that wants to turn every profitable bird swing into raw card economy. Kastral, the Windcrested is the entire value engine: each Bird that deals combat damage triggers its "draw a card," "pump the flock," or "reanimate a Bird" mode, so the deck snowballs from a few cheap evasive dorks into a sky-wide board of 4/4s and 5/5s. The overwhelming majority of the 99 is Birds, with early payoff density from Empyrean Eagle, Kangee's Lieutenant, Glorious Anthem, and Air Nomad Legacy acting as the force multipliers that turn the wide board lethal. The primary win is combat damage through a staggering number of flying bodies; a secondary tilted-back win in Approach of the First Sun leverages the same draw velocity to find and replay the casted spell. This is a deck whose plan is to repeatedly connect, outdraw opponents, and close through weight of birds.
