Format: Commander

Commander: Tergrid, God of Fright // Tergrid's Lantern

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Tergrid, God of Fright is the deck's active commander face: mass discard and sacrifice spells convert the opponent's discarded or sacrificed nonland permanents into your own board. The back face, Tergrid's Lantern, is a useful residual payoff but not the primary engine. Discard is reinforced by Waste Not, Geth's Grimoire, and several draw effects, while Liliana's Caress and Megrim turn each discarded card into life loss. Aclazotz, Deepest Betrayal acts as a hidden commander, supplying another reliable attack-discard trigger and repeatedly returning to the battlefield. The deck wins by attrition: strip resources, steal the best permanents, drain with Syr Konrad and Gray Merchant, then close with mass discard/sacrifice effects like Fraying Omnipotence or Rankle's Prank followed by combat.
